Quality and professionalism are keywords of the Terborg Tournament, combined with some “Achterhoekse“ gravy, then it has to be nice and cosy. The tournament has great support in the area and belongs to the best U-19 tournaments in Europe.
the Paasberg arena
Sportsground “De Paasberg” will change completely. On behalf of Terborg Tournament, there will exist a real arena. Stands on both sides of the pitch; Horeca-Plaza, VIP-room, Side-Events Plaza: it’s all there! But most important is the pitch itself: almost every year it is like a billiard table. And with forestry “De Paasberg” as background, a nice sun and the crowded stands, the total picture will be fantastic.
review 30th edition
Because of the 30th edition Terborg Tournament there were 10 instead of 8 participating teams. Unfortunately the organization was forced to withdraw the entry of Chivas Guadalajara due to the mexican flu. Valencia from Spain replaced them.
The tournament took place under excellent footballcircumstances, more than 12.000 spectators passed the gates. Ajax won the tournament-for the first time since 1999-after beating Atletico Mineiro by 2-0 in the final. The national team Australia U/20 made the third spot, on penalties, over Liverpool FC.
TV Gelderland produced a 33 minutes documentary titled “30 years Terborg Tournament”. This documentary was broadcasted at Whitsun and is still to be viewed on www.terborgtoernooi.nl.
Peter Berendhaus and Rob Gudden (members of the organization team) were honoured by Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands with the medal “Lid in de Orde van Oranje Nassau”. This award was a reward for their efforts to bring Terborg Tournament at the level as it is today.

Again a colourful mixture of footballstyles that will guarantee spectacular football. Friday May 14, the opening ceremony will be at 15.45 hrs. First match will be kicked off 16.00 hrs. Saturday May 15 the matches start at 10.00 hrs and Sunday May 16 at 11.00 hrs. The big final is scheduled for 16.00 hrs.
As organization we are proud of the efforts and support of so many volunteers, private families and a great number of sponsors. This is the proof that “loads” of people identify themselves with the Terborg Tournament.
Finally
We sincerely hope that the weekend May 14, 15 and 16 will be a big (football)party for everybody (spectators, teams and volunteers). We are very pleased with identical weathercircumstances as last year! Together we will create a huge happening.
